At St. Norbert Catholic School's Children's Center, we provide an atmosphere that is conducive to the social, physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual aspects of each child's development. We encourage and challenge children to achieve their full potential, and we provide them an environment that fosters learning experiences in a fun, educational and creative way. Our goal is to develop each child's self-confidence.
Religion
Children learn and live their Catholic faith through individual and classroom prayer, bible stories, songs, and visits from our priests.
Language
Language skills are developed through circle time, class activities, storytelling, and show and tell.
Music/Art
Music provides us with joy; and it is used during lessons, classroom transitions, and free play. Art is always offered as a free choice activity throughout the day, and during our activity time.
Dramatic Play/Physical Development
Imagination, role playing, socialization are all used and expressed through dramatic play. Movement and physical development are nurtured through outside and inside free play as well as weekly physical education.
Science/Math/Cooking
Counting, sorting, patterning, measuring, predicting, and experimenting are all concepts learned by our preschoolers.
Sensory
Sensory play changes weekly to stimulate each child's five senses. It facilitates exploration, investigation, and curiosity as they play.
